Open your phone/sd storage in whichever you save the data(most probably you get that data in phone storage).
- Under whatsapp goto database and you will get different backup files with different dates.(eg: msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12). More samples crypto,crgpt10
- Delete the latest backup or the overwritten backup file which you don’t need it.
- Make sure you see the old backup file date which you actually need it.
- Once you delete the file which generally doesn’t open up when you click. But just delete and reinstall your whatsapp.
- Follow the same procedure to restore the backup very carefully this time. Finally you will get restored the recent old backup, because you deleted the overwritten file.
